Tata Curvv EV battery details leaked ahead of launch
Tata Motors unveiled the production-spec Curvv last week ahead of its official launch on August 7. As we already know, Tata will launch both ICE and EV versions of the Curvv in the market, most likely the battery-powered version will make it to the showrooms first. Ahead of its market launch, details of the powertrain have been leaked online.
Nissan to bring five new cars by 2026-end, including sub-₹10-lakh EV
New Delhi: Japanese auto major Nissan Motor has said that it will be launching five products by the end of CY26, including compact sports utility vehicle (C-SUV) and electric vehicles (EV) including an EV that could be priced sub ₹10 lakh, in India. The first product that it is bringing in India will be the new X-Trail SUV, which will be launched next month in a completely built unit (CBU) form, and going forward, it will be bringing in more CBUs into India, said Frank Torres, Divisional Vice-President - AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, Oceania) Region Business Transformation and President, Nissan India Operations.
All-electric EV6 now available under Kia Lease program
Kia has introduced its lease program for its flagship product, EV6. The carmaker says that the move came after the success the company has received for its lease program in just 2 months of its launch. The special lease rental for EV6 stands at Rs 1.29 lakh per month and includes insurance, maintenance, pick-up and drop, scheduled/unscheduled services, and 24X7 RSA.

New Delhi: BMW India has launched the all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase, available exclusively as a petrol variant, with bookings open at BMW dealerships and online. Deliveries for the vehicle are set to start in September 2024. The introductory ex-showroom price for the BMW 530Li M Sport variant is INR 72,90,000.

New Delhi: BMW Group India has sold over 2,000 electric cars in two-and-a-half years,Vikram Pawah, President & CEO, told FE."BMW Group India entered the electric mobility space in December 2021 by launching the iX with a 425 km range priced Rs. 1.16 core, followed by the January 2022 launch of the MINI Electric (Rs. 48 lakh) with a 200 km range,"he said. "Today, we have six electric models under the BMW brand and two under the MINI sub-brand, and sales have crossed 2,000 units. We are by far the leader in the luxury electric car segment!" Of these 2,000, more than 1,000 are the DC - its first electric model -and about 500 are the i7 (the super luxury electric car). "This implies a lot of people at the top-of-the-pyramid are experimenting with electric mobility,"he said.

Honda leads scooter market with Activa in Q1 FY2025
The scooter market's revival has spurred growth among the top six OEMs. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), the market leader, nearly reached 8 lakh units in wholesales at 7,94,835 units, a 35 percent YoY increase. It despatched 2,05,435 more scooters compared to the first quarter of FY2024. HMSI's market share has risen to 48 percent from 45 percent last year, driven by strong demand for the Activa models (both 110cc and 125cc variants). Despite these gains, HMSI's Q1 performance falls short of the 1.11 million scooters sold in Q1 FY2019, when the industry total was 1.81 million scooters. 
Splendor, HF 100 help Hero retain top spot in Q1 FY2025
The bulk of the motorcycle demand, as always, was in the commuter segment. In Q1, a total of 15,03,398 such fuel-sipping motorcycles were sold, up 12 percent YoY. The second in terms of volume is the 110-125cc executive bike segment, with 9,13,793 units, up 19.62 percent, followed by the 150-200cc segment with 3,34,207 units, up 21 percent.
